Functional nutrition for depleted mothers

Why are you still this exhausted, one, two, even three years after having your baby?

Because depletion this deep has findable causes, and nobody has looked at your whole case. Replenish Functional Health runs a full functional assessment of your history, stress load, sleep, digestion, nutrition and its timing, environment, and labs read in functional ranges, then rebuilds your body in the order it recovers: gut and absorption first, then blood sugar, stress hormones, and your nervous system.

You will never be asked to wean, sleep-train, or mother differently in order to get better. I'm a mother who has lived this depletion myself, and the practice is built around that promise.

This practice was built for a very specific mother.

You sleep a full night and wake up as tired as when you lay down. The exhaustion lives deeper than sleep can reach, and it's been building since your baby was born, whether that was six months ago or three years ago.

Your brain feels slower than it used to. You lose the word mid-sentence, whether you're leading a meeting or reading to your toddler, and you re-read the same page three times before it lands.

By late afternoon your nervous system is maxed. You love your kids, and the noise and the touching and the constant needing make you want to stand alone in the bathroom just to breathe.

Maybe you're home with them all day, nursing or homeschooling or both, and the afternoon crash is so reliable you've built the family schedule around it.

Or maybe you're back at work full time, answering daycare messages between meetings, running the entire household in your head, and pouring whatever is left into your kids before you collapse at night.

You went to your doctor. They ran labs. Everything came back "normal," and you were sent home with advice about water, sleep, and stress.

You've already changed your diet, added the supplements, and cut what needed cutting. You're doing everything right, and you're still dragging yourself through every single day.

This practice was built for you, whether you breastfed for two years or couldn't breastfeed at all, whether you're home with your kids or back at your desk. Depletion doesn't check your parenting style or your job title, and neither do I.

That's who this practice is for.

Conventional postpartum care ends at six weeks.

Your OB cleared you, your pediatrician took over for the baby, and nobody checked back in on you at six months, a year, or three years. The system moved on, and your body didn't.

Pregnancy and postpartum fundamentally shift your gut microbiome, drain critical nutrient stores, and dysregulate hormones that don't bounce back on their own just because the baby started sleeping.

When those systems don't recover, the downstream effects compound: fatigue that sleep can't touch, brain fog that makes you question your own competence, mood swings, hair loss, afternoon crashes, and a nervous system stuck in overdrive.

So you go to your doctor. They run a basic panel. Your TSH is in range. Your CBC comes back unremarkable. And you're told there's nothing wrong.

The ranges they're using catch disease, but they miss the space between "not sick" and "actually well." Most depleted mothers are living in that space, and their labs reflect it when you know what to look for.

This practice runs the full assessment nobody has run for you, finds what standard panels miss, and rebuilds in the order your body recovers.

Maternal depletion has a biological sequence. Recovery has to follow it.

The Replenish Method is a data-driven, root-cause approach built specifically for mothers whose bodies never recovered from pregnancy and postpartum. It works in three phases.

1

Uncover

We start with a full functional assessment that covers your health history, pregnancies and births, stress, sleep, digestion, nutrition, your environment, and how your days actually run. Then we layer that with an advanced blood panel read in functional ranges, going far beyond the standard annual workup. You finish knowing what's depleted, what's driving it, and where to start.

2

Rebuild

We restore gut function and nutrient absorption first, because nothing else works if your body can't absorb what it needs. From there, we address hormones, starting with blood sugar, stress hormones, and circadian rhythm. Every protocol is built around your specific labs, your real schedule, and what you can actually implement with a toddler in the house.

3

Reclaim

We adjust your protocol as your body responds, troubleshoot what isn't moving, and refine what is. As gut health and hormones come back online, the nervous system starts to regulate, and the changes stop requiring constant effort and start becoming the way you live.

We approach maternal depletion as the biological event it is: hormones, nervous system, nutrient status. Recovery has a biological sequence, and we follow it with data.

The symptoms your doctor called "just part of being a mom."

Bone-deep fatigue that sleep doesn't fix

Brain fog and cognitive decline

Nervous system dysregulation and overstimulation

Hormonal imbalances carrying over from pregnancy

Digestive issues, bloating, and food sensitivities

Anxiety, mood swings, or emotional reactivity

Hair loss, skin changes, or weight resistance

Insomnia or disrupted sleep patterns

Feeling wired but exhausted

Autoimmune flares or new sensitivities post-baby

These symptoms are connected. They're signals from interconnected systems that broke down under the biological load of pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and the demands of early motherhood. We look at how those signals connect and work through them in the right biological order. Whether your youngest is six months old or three years old, these signals deserve a real investigation.

How to Get Started

1

Book Your Complimentary Depletion Recovery Call

A complimentary, no-obligation conversation where we talk through what you're experiencing, what you've already tried, and what your body has been through since pregnancy. There is no charge for this call. By the end, you'll know whether functional nutrition is the right next step, and if it is, exactly what that looks like.

2

Get Your Personalized Plan

Based on your history, symptoms, and goals, we map out the right path forward, including which labs to run, what to prioritize first, and how the process fits into your actual schedule. Everything is sequenced so you're never guessing what to do next or why.

3

Start Recovering

We work together inside a structured, time-bound program. We'll review your labs through a functional lens, adjust as your body responds, and stay in contact between visits, with a practitioner tracking the full picture alongside you, so you're held through the whole process rather than handed a plan and left alone with it. You'll see what's changing, understand why, and always know what comes next.

All care is virtual, one-on-one, and compatible with breastfeeding and the way you've chosen to mother.

Gina Corrigan, CFNC, CHN

I built this practice after going through maternal depletion myself.

After I had my son, I was dealing with crushing fatigue, debilitating brain fog, and constant overstimulation. I couldn't show up at work or at home in a way I was proud of. I was doing all the right things and I still felt like I was dragging myself through every single day.

When I finally went to my doctor, I was told my labs were "fine" and nothing was wrong. I had a high-stress job where I needed to be mentally sharp, and brain fog was not an option. When I got home, all I wanted was to be calm and present with my son, but my body was tapped out.

That's when I decided to take a data-informed functional health approach. I looked at my symptoms, patterns, lifestyle, and labs to pinpoint what was actually driving my depletion, then implemented targeted changes that fit my real, demanding mom life. I reclaimed my energy, my mental clarity, and a regulated nervous system.

Before that, in my twenties, I'd already walked through my own autoimmune crisis using the same functional health principles I now teach. I understand what it's like to have your body turn on you and to feel dismissed by a system that wasn't built to find the answer.

Now I'm sharp at work all day, and I still have real capacity to be fully present at home and enjoy the best parts of motherhood. That's why I created Replenish Functional Health, for depleted moms who are doing everything right and still falling apart.

What to Expect From This Practice

This is root-cause functional nutrition care built around your labs, your symptoms, your environment, and your daily life. It's structured, time-bound, and focused on finding what's actually driving your depletion and addressing it in the right order with a clear plan.

You are treated as an active partner in your care. Every decision is explained, every recommendation has a rationale, and you'll understand the "why" behind everything in your protocol.

You are also never alone in it. Between visits you can message me as things come up, your progress is tracked so we both see what's moving, and every protocol is built to be lived by a real mother with a real schedule, compatible with breastfeeding and the way you've chosen to parent.

This is not emergency care, and it does not replace your primary care physician. Supplements, labs, and dietary changes are recommended when the full picture calls for them. Your engagement has a defined scope, a clear timeline, and a measurable objective. You'll know what we're working on, how long it takes, and what progress looks like along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Conventional medicine is designed to diagnose and manage disease. It's excellent for acute care and emergencies. When it comes to the kind of chronic, multi-system depletion that builds up after pregnancy and early motherhood, the standard model often falls short. Your doctor may run a basic panel, see that your results fall within the "normal" range, and tell you there's nothing wrong.

Functional health looks at your labs through a tighter, optimal range, maps your symptoms to interconnected systems (gut, hormones, nervous system, nutrient status), and finds the root cause rather than masking individual symptoms.

No, and that's part of the problem. Maternal depletion isn't a formal medical diagnosis, which is a large part of why it goes unaddressed. It's a well-documented biological phenomenon where the physical demands of pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and sustained caregiving deplete a mother's nutrient reserves, destabilize her hormones, and dysregulate her nervous system. Research shows this recovery process can take 24 months or more under ideal conditions, and for most mothers, conditions are anything but ideal.

Two reasons. First, we run a significantly more comprehensive panel than what most providers order, including energy markers, nutrient status, metabolic function, thyroid and immune markers, and inflammation indicators that a standard wellness check doesn't cover. Second, we look at your results through the lens of optimal function, not just disease absence.

Different systems move at different speeds. Nutrient repletion runs on a timescale of weeks to months depending on the nutrient and how depleted you are. Iron stores in particular take months to rebuild, not weeks. Gut and digestive changes often show earlier. Hormone and nervous system patterns are the slowest. We track it with data so you can see what's moving rather than relying on how you feel on a given day.

Yes, and you will never be asked to wean to work with me. Breastfeeding changes the toolbox, since some supplements and interventions wait, but it never closes it: nutrition strategy, meal timing, mineral support, sleep architecture, and the full testing picture all remain available. Every recommendation you receive is built to be compatible with nursing and with the way you've chosen to mother.

I don't bill insurance. This is a cash-based practice, and all investment details are covered transparently on the complimentary call, including payment plan options. If you have an HSA or FSA, eligibility depends on your specific plan, and I'm happy to talk through what documentation I can provide.

It's a no-charge, no-pressure conversation where we talk about what you're experiencing, how long it's been going on, and what you've already tried. I'll share how our approach works and whether one of our programs is the right fit. If it's not the right match, I'll tell you that directly and point you in a better direction.

Find out what's actually going on.

If you're tired of being told nothing is wrong when you can feel that something is, the next step is a complimentary Depletion Recovery Call. We'll talk through what you're experiencing, what you've already tried, and whether this approach is the right fit for what your body needs right now.
